Fairy Tail wiki

Personality:

Michelle's feelings and motivations are primarily centered around her 'sister' Lucy. Of course they're not related by blood, but was granted as one by Lucy herself, which she took it to heart. She spent numerous years with the Heartfilia family as a doll and while there was nothing she could do to interact with her 'sister', their experiences playing together, being loved, and eventually splitting apart are all memories she somehow kept.

Ultimately she wants Lucy to be happy, but she even more wants to return to the old days of playing together and will do anything to relive those times as revealed by her deal with Midnight: When she was brought to life by him, she agreed to trick Lucy into gathering pieces of a device called the Infinity Clock then place her in a hundred year stasis within it in exchange for spending the rest of their days together once she wakes.

She spends most of her time playing the part of a woman named Michelle Lobster, essentially the 'ideal feminine' with the intent of making people want to like and protect her.

Her interpretation of that Michelle is an aristocrat of the Lobster family who is a cheerful, kind, compassionate and sheltered. She enjoys cooking and cleaning, and seeking new experiences, as well as eager to prove herself as a useful person. At greater heights of happiness or sadness her emotions tend to become exaggerated, as she becomes much noisier and bursts into tears during them. She also shows signs of clumsiness though it is rarely triggered at the most inopportune times, used to appear fragile. Michelle absolutely loves eating and has a particular taste for sweets.

There are a number of times where her true feelings slip. When she finally reunites with Lucy and claims to be her cousin, she talks about their times together when they were little with ambiguous details (times which Lucy could not recall at the time), and expresses disappointment that Lucy can't remember them. There is also a point where she expresses happiness for Lucy's desire to save money to buy back her family's foreclosed mansion and 'return it back to the way it was'. Much later on when Fairy Tail is fighting a zealot, Michelle comments that his actions doesn't weigh on his conscience because they are fueled by faith instead of emotion, hinting at her own deceitful motives.

When Michelle becomes Imitatia, she shifts into a cold and mechanical personality, not to mention she is far more aggressive and open in her belief that she and Lucy only need one another. She claims to have no emotions in this state and that everything was an act, but as she is locked in battle with Fairy Tail (to keep them from interrupting the stasis preparation), their outspoken anger and confusion over her betrayal causes her to briefly doubt herself which makee it difficult to comply to Midnight's order to kill them. Eventually she tunnel visions on her heart's desire to re-bolster her morale.

Moments before Michelle is turned back into a doll, there is a moment where she regrets taking the path that she did and gives a teary-eyed apology to Lucy.

Re: Transformation Magic: While I can't think of a reason why Michelle might use this magic (maybe for a board job?), I'll be certain to put up a permissions post for this.

Alignment:
Daimonia: Michelle's time spent with Fairy Tail are loaded with joyful experiences, and the more she gains with them (particularly with her 'big sister' Lucy), the more she has to lose as she grows closer to the end of her mission.

Other:
I wasn't sure where to place this in the personality section, and it didn't seem to fit under History. Anyhow in episode 149, Imitatia finds herself in a point where she learns that Lucy won't go into stasis but will actually turn into a clock. She's absolutely horrified by this revelation and breaks her allegiance with Midnight and tries to free Lucy from the assimilation. She's turned back into a doll before she can do any real damage, and I am entering her in the game the moment before she's reverted.

From this new canon point I am making it so that Michelle is so ashamed of her actions and the pain that she placed upon her 'family' that she would avoid changing to her Imitatia form unless it's to protect someone she cares for. Michelle chooses to make the 'Lobster' persona her own as it holds her fondest memories and will spend a lot of time developing and understanding herself as a person now that she has another chance at living a life without deceit. Naturally, her other motivation is to make make up for the hardships she has caused.
